Hello everyone,

Back in January, my 2021 all-black TRX, which had about 22,500 miles, caught fire. The cause remains unknown. When a Mopar inspector examined the vehicle, he said it was impossible to determine what happened because it was completely destroyed. The following week, Stellantis sent a letter confirming they couldn’t identify the cause and stated they wouldn’t offer any compensation since no one was injured. However, the situation could have been much worse: about 10–12 minutes after we left the vehicle that night, it exploded. For context, we don’t smoke or drink and drive.

I haven’t spoken much about this until now, but after talking with a friend today, I learned that his neighbor in Florida also owned a TRX and tragically died when his truck caught fire in front of his house. Does anyone have more information about that incident? I’m now very hesitant about buying another RAM truck with a supercharger. I was considering a Challenger, but I’m concerned about the safety of the Hellcat as well. I haven’t made a decision yet.

Here are a few pics:

If anyone has similar experiences or advice, I’d appreciate hearing your stories. Has anyone else had issues like this recently?

that florida trx death was actually a streamer who died crashing into a tree while running from the cops not a random driveway firestellantis did have massive fire recalls recently for trucks catching fire while parked but it was for heavy duty diesels not the trxhellcats can catch fire too but it is usually caused by catastrophic transmission failures spraying hot fluid on the exhaust
