It finally was delivered today, but now it won’t get installed till Saturday Morning when the engine is cold and it’s cooler in the garage so no exciting pictures. That will also give me a chance to get everything unpacked and make sure I have all the parts and get any hardware that could be needed. ie. Fender washers. I read about there being none or not enough or not big enough and the bolt pulling through the intake where it mounts to the stock cross bar. Waiting till Saturday will also give me a chance to assemble as much of the misc parts to I don’t have to do them Saturday Morning.

One thing to take note. I could have sworn I read somewhere that these come in two boxes. If that was true they made changes and it now comes in one box. The filter is put in the air box.

Seems smart on their part. The second box with mine only had the three radiator closeout panels. Kind of a waste.

Might want to pay extra attention to the clamps on the throttle body. Saw a few guys have their couplers pop off. I am swapping the worm clamps to T-bolts when I put the Incognito on but haven’t had any issues myself.

do you have a link for the T-bolts that you are switching to?

I haven’t tried them yet but they should be right. I matched the sizes based off what S&B lists in the instruction manual. SAE #64 at the TB and #72 at the tube.

thanks. So do these just have more clamping power?

Yeah, you can put way more torque on them and they have a wider area. The worm clamps will just strip out if you tighten them too much.

I think the real fix would be a longer accordion coupler, like the AFE used.

Makes sense. While I was home for lunch I put the coupler on the new intake tube and clamped it down and it's on there really good and doesn't seem like it would come off. With that I'm wondering if it is only the TB side that is the issue?

On the ones I saw, it fell off the throttle body, but I figured I’d just do the both while I’m there.

Of course the #64 I can't get till next week. I ordered it anyway and gonna install on Saturday with the supplied clamp and keep an eye on it.

I got this installed this morning. First impressions are that I like it but the fitment of the parts is not perfect, but that is to be expected of molded plastic and the small variations between all trucks. The biggest one is that i can’t get a seal with the lid on the air box. On the bottom side where it offsets the air box itself is bowed down and the lip on the gasket does’t catch. It’s a small space but I can see right through to the air filter. In the picture below you can see how the air box bows down.

I was going to initially drive it first without the cover but I decided to put it on to see if I like the added supercharger whine with the cover. I can say as of right now I’m happy with it. It’s definitely louder, so I might end up taking the cover back off, cleaning up all the grease I got on it and see if there is any way to get it to seal better but I don’t really see it being an issue As it.

Assembly and install overall is not bad at all. I will say getting the filter seated right in the opening of the airbox was just as hard as getting the lid installed. I have a feeling that every time the filter needs cleaned the only way to get it seated properly will be by taking the air box off the truck. Below you can see the lip that has to get pushed through the opening(it has the two notches on the top). I did not use any grease or anything so maybe that would have helped but I still don’t see much room being able to do that on the truck with the intake tube right there.

I like all the extra room you also get with this intake. It makes it easier to get to my catch can.

And now some beauty shots lol

Looks good. Hopefully the rubber lid gasket will lay in there a little better with time and some heat. A perfect seal isn’t critical anyhow.

When you first installed yours did you hear a lot of creaking when you got say home and turned the truck off? I’m guessing there is a lot a expansion and contraction with all the new plastic parts.

No, can’t say I remember hearing anything like that. But I didn’t pay much attention either.

Ok, installing this might have been a bad thing. Since the install yesterday my average mpg’s on the screen has gone from 10.0 to 9.6 🤣

I’m not saying it is because I haven’t tied to put it on the truck, but does it look like this is a little small?

Yeah, I just took a look. Too small. Guessing SAE 72 in a T-Bolt isn’t the same as a worm clamp or there’s no equivalent? No clue, but my bad on that for assuming.

No worries, it was worth a shot. I got it through amazon so i should be able to return.

and just so there is no mix up, that picture is of the smaller size for the connection to the throttle body.

Yeah, even the bigger of the two I ordered was too small for the smaller location. I compared it against the stock tube hanging in the shed. I’ll do some homework and see if I can find something that works.

I found out that I am not the only one that has had fitment issues with the S&B parts. Specifically the radiator close out panel that goes on the drivers side. There is a decent gap there and you can't get it to sit flush. I saw on facebook that S&B has resolved that issue and all new units are shipping with the fixed part. The guy from S&B said to email them at [email protected] with you info and they will send the new one. I'm going to send an email with this picture and a screen shot of the post I saw on facebook.
