Filled up yesterday. Went across the river to Kentucky. Locally, gasoline is mostly around $3.69 to $3.89. One place by the interstate is still $4.09. Pretty much deserted too. I filled up in Kentucky at $2.89. It ranged from $2.89 to $2.91 there.

Remember the Hindenburgh? The Germans used Hydrogen rather than Helium as it is not a common element on Earth. It out gasses from underground and usually evaporates as fast as it comes out. I've seen party balloons where they used Hydrogen and got too close to the lit candles.

Nope, the oil companies are going to keep it as high as possible as log as possible. It's all about profit.

It's been quiet around here. Almost TOO quiet.

We've got quite a few large trees where the root balls pulled out of the ground. I'm 3 miles from the Ohio river so flooding, except for flash flooding, isn't really a problem.

It's been quiet around here. Almost TOO quiet.

I've been cleaning up after recent storms. I got 5 inches of rain in one storm but we didn't get hammered like Eastern Kentucky. The really heavy storm, I don't know how much rain as I can't find find my gauge. The city has a dump area for storm damage on trees. I had about 4000 pounds of...

I had one at one time on a Jeep Cherokee with the Warn Trans4mer system. At least until I forgot and left it on the Jeep overnight without a locking hitch pin. I had run heavy cables to the rear as well so I could use it on either end.

    A little spiritual advice.

It doesn't have to be as heavy as the one on the back. You aren't going down the road with a heavily loaded trailer. Make it with a 2 inch tube and you can swap the hitch from the back to the front easily.

I got to thinking, (now my head hurts) you have no idea what "Mr. Thingie" is. I live alone and sometimes have to move a dead vehicle. This will let me push or pull anything with a 2 inch ball hitch. You can pull a rope or chain, but pushing one is a talent I've never had. Have you folks...

I build a lot of stuff in my head. When I can get a friend to do the cutting and welding, I even make a lot of cool stuff. I've been trying to find someone to make a metal, folding, version of "Mr. Thingie".

    New species found.

When I was younger and did some work for Uncle, the Russians and their proxy's caused all sort of problems. In the 1940's through the 1990's, if you said some of the things the talking heads are saying now, you might not go to prison, but you definitely would kill your career. I suppose you've...

I had them mounted on the front bumper, just under the headlight. I've run around those woods since I was about 5 years old. I know where a lot of trees are, but the brush changes with the seasons and growth patterns. By keeping them under the headlight, it made a clean installation and didn't...

Something I made (and they were then stolen.) was a pair of brackets with two lights. One facing forward and one to the side. I used them off road in the woods at night to see the trees and such. The forward facing light was an on/off toggle an the side facing lights wee momentary switches. The...

What did you spend (or waste) your money on today.

If you like strong coffee, let me know. I'll swing by. I don't drink coffee. When I was working, they INSISTED that since my desk was by it, I should make the coffee. We were out of the prepackaged grinds so I got the scoop out and used the Folgers can. You could almost stand the spoon up in it...

Had to head down into Kentucky today. Filled up before coming back. Locally, it's $4.29. I filled up at $3.59. Too bad I didn't have any empty fuel cans to take with me. If you're going between Hopkinsville and Henderson Ky., it's the Love's truck stop at Hansen Ky.

    New species found.

Anybody who watches BBC or PBS is familiar with David Attenborough should find this sounding familiar. It's about a new species called the Javelin being introduced to control an invasive species.

Around here, it almost, but not quite hit $5 for gasoline. Upstate, away from Kentucky, it went well over $5. Right now, it's between $3.85 and $4.25 depending on which side of town you're on. Fortunately, I'm on the cheap side. I look for prices to stay steady of drop for the next month. Look...

HIMARS is a new song title.

The Lockheed-Martin HIMARS system is now the subject of a new song. We have a lot of people here who were involved in both over and covert operations back in the days. It seems Tsar Putin and his Russian Expeditionary Military Force has a new headache.
