After a year of going back and forth with the dealership on right front suspension repairs, I decided to give up and just have some peace of mind.

Back story: I purchased in Sept. 2020 a CPO 4th gen 1500. Two weeks after purchase, the RF strut mount and strut failed. 1.5 months later, again. About 3 months after, again. The dealer then decided to replace all front suspension components. The whole front end is new. Middle of this year, the RF goes out again. Early this month, RF again.

After plenty of arguing and general disappointment with the dealer's ability to rectify the issue, I decided to cut my losses and purchase a brand new 2022 5th gen 2500. I'll be picking up the new HD on Saturday since I'm out of the country on a work assignment. Here's a dealer pic of the new family member. I purchased the HD from a different dealer. I'm hoping this will be the last truck I buy for at least 15 years.

Congrats on the new truck.
Thanks! I'm excited. This will be my first new vehicle ever. I don't like to buy new because I don't like to take the depreciation hit, but I'm at a point where I have too much going on to be doing maintenance and repairs myself.

i fully get that. Having a new truck with a warranty is nice.

Nice .. and welcome to the HD club. I have owned many 1500 Dodge and Ram Trucks but after buying my 2500 I'll never go back to a 1500 again. I just love the capabilities of this truck and the fact that I barley do any maintenance as compared to a 1500, at 7 years old we just started doing front suspension work. Whereas with a 7 year old 1500 we'd be on our second rebuild of parts already.

Thank you. Glad to hear that maintenance has been less of an issue than with the 1500. I'm looking forward to ownership of an HD.
