Bed Tie down rails

My truck didn’t come with the bed utility group so it didn’t have these rails. I found a set on Market place and got them installed today. Install is pretty straight forward. It requires the use of rivnuts, but the hole is a hexagon and so is the rivnut. You would think that makes it easy to install them and you would be wrong. They will still spin in the hole. Thank god I bought a Rivnut tool previously and was able get them crushed in place. I’m also adding pics of the instructions for anybody that might want to do this.

My bed mat is still not Velcro’d down because I’m seriously considering having the bed line-x’d. if I do that I might as well wait

That bed mat looks pretty thick. How thick is it? Looks to be at least 1/2".

I will have to measure it the Next time I’m down there, but it is padding and it is great for crawling around on your knees in the bed of the truck.

I finally remembered to measure this. It’s 3/4” thick

How easily is that pad removed. If is easy, there are thieves everywhere. The bed liner is the way to go, IMO. Plus you can get those now in different colors.

Without a tonneau cover and the locking tailgate access to it would be very easy. And it’s held in with velcro strips. Since I have a Tonneau cover access to it is not easy.

No matter what i do I will keep the carpet. I can put it on top of line-x
