Hello everyone. New member on this forum. Thanks for taking the time to read. Considering a used 21 TRX with Level 2 package with about 35k miles. I’m a car/truck nut (turned wrenches for 13 years before a career change). Can you all give me the good, the bad and the ugly about these trucks (besides the fuel “economy”)? I plan on keeping it for a very long time. Thanks!

the biggest ugly on buying one of these trucks used is 1st the previous owner beat on it and didn’t do any upkeep. 2nd ugly is that it has been modified and the powertrain warranty is void. if neither of those are of concern to you the hellcat engine has a history since 2016 that can be researched. Biggest known issues of the TRX are front cv boots blowing out, driveshaft clunk. In 21 there was also the trx lean which can be fixed with updated springs.

Thank you for your valuable insight! Any thoughts on a decrease from the 22 model year and up? I thought I read somewhere that the 2022’s had more QC issues. And thank you again quietpeen.

and of course with what I said, that doesn’t mean all of them are treated like that. I’m willing to bet there are ones out there that were never beat on and still completely stock.

I don’t think quality control of 22’s was an issue. 21’s had their fair share of things that was discovered. Tyler Potter on youtube has some good videos on those issues.
