Gas cap light

Looking for some advice. I've got a 2010 5.7L Ram TRX. 3-4 months ago the gas cap light came on and after some research, replaced the cap with a new one and the light went off. A couple days ago, it came on again and also the check engine light as well. The codes indicated the gas cap again, so, frustrated that the one I had bought only a few months ago had already failed, I purchased another. Light went off for about 1/2 a day and then came back on with the check engine light as well. Has anyone else had anything similar? I haven't found any other threads on this topic as yet.

This is a forum for the newer 5th gen TRX with the 6.2L Supercharged Hemi, but from what I remember on the 3rd gens is that the breather tube on the filler neck can crack and cause this code. Check into that. Also go to Ramforum.com and do a search on gas cap light or gas tank breather tube.
